A sweet, intimate piece that warms one's heart. Skating is one of the very few shows on TV that my wife and I could watch together. I am familiar with everything you said, and it brings back nice memories. Gordeeva published a book "My Sergei." I did not read it for the prejudice that her writing can't be as beautiful as her skating. Am I wrong?
