ED: What would I give to see his face?

What would I give to see his face?
I'd give -- I'd give my life -- of course --
But that is not enough!
Stop just a minute -- let me think!
I'd give my biggest Bobolink!
That makes two --
Him -- and Life!
You know who "June" is
-- I'd give her --
Roses a day from Zanzibar --
And Lily tubes -- like Wells -- Bees -- by the furlong

还有百合的花茎 -- 井 -- 蜂 -- by the furlong

----------------------------
The following little poem note contained a pressed dandelion tied with scarlet ribbon.
To Mr. and Mrs. Edward Tuckerman
Nov. 8, 1881

The Dandelion's pallid tube
Astonishes the Grass,
And Winter instantly becomes
An infinite Alas
-- The tube uplifts a signal Bud
And then a shouting Flower,
-- The Proclamation of the Suns
That sepulture is o'er.
